🦂 Asian Forest Scorpion (Heterometrus spp.)

🏠Housing
Minimum enclosure size: 30 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm (12" x 12" x 12") for a single adult
Provide a secure, escape-proof enclosure with limited ventilation
Ideally include at least 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) of diggable substrate
Add cork bark or half logs for hides
Provide a deep, dark hide and plenty of surface cover

Ideal temperature range: 24–28°C (75–82°F)
Night drop: 20–22°C (68–72°F)
Use a thermostat-controlled heat mat underneath the enclosure
No lighting required—avoid bright light
Maintain a natural 12-hour day/night cycle if light is used for display

Maintain humidity between 70–80%
Mist one side of the enclosure lightly 2–3 times per week
Ensure good ventilation to avoid mould
Provide a small, shallow water dish with clean water

Feed gut-loaded insects such as crickets, dubia roaches, or locusts
Juveniles: 2–3 times per week
Adults: Once a week
Remove uneaten prey after 24 hours
Do not overfeed—scorpions may refuse food when full

Spot clean uneaten prey and waste weekly
Deep clean every 1–2 months, replacing substrate as needed
Rinse décor items and hides with warm water and reptile-safe disinfectant
