Temperament: Skittish but usually docile; can flick urticating hairs

🏠 Enclosure

• Type: Terrestrial with plenty of floor space

• Ventilation: Moderate airflow, avoid stagnant conditions

• Lid: Secure and escape-proof

🌿 Substrate & Décor

• Substrate: 4–6 inches of loose coco fibre, topsoil, or a soil/vermiculite mix

• Décor: Cork bark hide, leaf litter, flat stones

• Enrichment: Room to dig or rearrange surface décor

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

• Temperature: 24–27°C (75–80°F)

• Night drop: Acceptable to 20°C (68°F)

• Humidity: 65–75%

• Mist lightly or overflow water dish to maintain humidity—avoid soaking substrate

💡 Lighting

• No special lighting required

• Ambient room light is sufficient

• Keep enclosure out of direct sunlight

💧 Water

• Provide a shallow water dish at all times

• Clean and refill regularly to prevent bacterial growth

🥩 Feeding

• Feed appropriately sized prey such as:

  • Dubia roaches

  • Locusts

  • Crickets

  • Occasional pinkie mice (adults only, optional)

• Feeding schedule:

  • Juveniles: 2–3x per week

  • Adults: 1x per week

  • Remove uneaten prey after 24 hours

⚠️ Handling & Behaviour

• Not recommended—while generally calm, they can be fast and unpredictable

• May flick urticating hairs when threatened
